D is for....

Dips! I made two easy dips this weekend and thought I would share them! The first is salsa!
Brookie loves this salsa!!
Here are the ingredients:
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of rotel with lime and cilantro
1/2 small onion chopped
juice of 1 lime
1 teaspon of minced garlic (from the jar)
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspon of pepper
Blend in the blender! So easy and good.
The second dip is a garlic and herb cheese spread.

Here are the ingredients:
1 8oz package of cream cheese (I use the light or fat free)
2 tablespoons of milk
Beat these two ingredients together with a hand mixer.
Then add:
1 1/2 teaspoon of finely minced garlic (again out of the jar!)
3/4 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon of onion powder
2 or 3 chopped green onions
Mix the rest of the ingredients with the hand mixer.
Next time you need a quick and easy appetizer- you have two to choose from!

My trip to nashville...

Can you tell how much I love this child??? I'm not sure he feels the same about me just yet... :)

Reed laughed and smiled almost the entire time, but I didn't get any good pictures of him! He's a fast little thing! I love spending time with him (and his mom and dad)!

Reed!

I found these pictures on my camera from April when we went to Memphis to celebrate my Mom and Dad's birthday!

C is for....

a cute little face... (adjectives count, right?) I got to spend all weekend with my nephew, Reed! My Dad and I drove to Nashville Friday morning and got there a few minutes before he woke up from his afternoon nap. (My mom was already there) I took him happies including the shirt he is wearing that I made him. I have other pictures that I took that i hope to post sometime this week. He has gotten so big and has learned new words! I taught him uh-oh while I was there. We didn't do much besides hang out around the house and go out to eat because Reed was running fever and not feeling too well. I love getting to spend time with him- he is growing so fast!

Tips on ordering at Mcdonald's...

Brookie had his first softball game last night for the church league. Our friends, Spence and Jenni came to pick us up- so after the game, the guys decided to go to McDonald's. By the way, they won the game!! Brookie gets to the counter to order, he says, "I would like a No. 2 (which is two cheeseburgers, fries, and a drink), but I would like hamburgers instead of cheeseburgers." The nice lady wearing the "In Training" tshirt behind the counter tells Brookie that he cannot order that. Then, I asked "Can he get a No.2 with no cheese?" She says Yes!! So, when he got the combo meal, the burgers were wrapped in cheeseburger paper with the Double Accuracy sticker- with a ticket stating, Cheeseburger-no cheese! So if you ever want to substitute a hamburger for a cheeseburger at McDonald's- be sure to order a cheeseburger with no cheese!!

Reed's Dedication

I know I post everything a week after it happens, but at least I'm posting again... Last weekend Brookie and I got to go to Nashville for Reed's Dedication at church. We were so glad that we could be there to celebrate this special occasion. The above picture is of me and Reed during church right after his dedication. He did so good!!
Here is me and Brookie about to leave for church!

Silly Reed playing with his Aunt Ava's sunglasses..

About 10 minutes after we got to Jeff and Abbey's, Reed noticed somebody he had never seen before: his Uncle Brookie. This is the look he gave him for a good 5 minutes. He was so cute. Uncle Brookie and Reed had lots of fun making silly noises and laughing!

Of course, the first thing I did was give Reed a great big hug, then a kiss and then a present (like any good Aunt!) :)

We had such a good time!!

Carrie's Shower last weekend

My mom and I gave my college room mate a baby shower last weekend. It was a rubber duckie themed shower and it was a lot of fun! Here is a picture of me with Carrie.

Here are some of the duckie decorations...

The flower arrangement.

All the food...we had blueberry pound cake, Quiche, sausage cheese muffins, grape salad, and cream cheese tarts. It was a baby shower brunch!

The plates, napkins, and forks...

A few of the guests...

Everything went great! It was wonderful to get to see Carrie. She lives in Minnesota where her husband is a pilot with Delta. They are expecting their first child in January! And they don't know whether it is a boy or a girl!
